Ah, well… may I ask what kind of system/cms you would like to use?
I see that a web project may become quite frustrating when you realize nobody seems to care. Actually, there are people like me who would like to see the place you were about to create up and running, to come around regularly. However, if a thing seems half-hearted and not well-thought (which your interim solution is, by design!), it attracts even less people to join. Maybe a good system that is extensible and starts small (so you don’t need to put in everything in the first place and can work on it) would be the best way, combined with a good sense for marketing/advertising (which by no means means automatically commercial, i.e. paid media).
You should still give it a shot. At what point of development are you at the moment?

thx a lot for your comment! You’re right about the interim solution, it’s not very appealing. I just thought it would be better than nothing. However, after reading your comment I think that it’s better to take the site offline until there’s something new.
I’d love to keep chatting with you and I’ll snd you an email about my plannings. There have been a few more drawbacks actually but maybe I can start over again faster than I think.
Your idea of an extensible system sounds really good to me!

yeah, the interim solution was looking really bad and unfriendly, that’s why I didn’t participated in adding more contests too.
however I still believe in idea of site similar to this. how is your collaboration going? any news with a probable rebirth date?

I actually think that I won’t be able to put the site up again before next year. I’ll try to be online again by let’s say March 2009, but that’s just a vague estimation.
It’s just that I can’t really plan it out carefully now, because I’ll be working on a new job soon. I don’t know yet how much time I will have left to run this project then. Hope you understand. I love reeemix.com and I’m looking forward to a great rebirth, too!
Meanwhile I plan to take both the blog and the interim version offline and replace them by a site with status updates on the relaunch.
