Other: Have you ever remixed a remix? On the “remixin project” this is what you’re gonna do, multiple times. It’s an experiment called “the evolution of remix”. You’re asked to remix other musicians’ remixes and then you’ll have your remix remixed by others again. How are the seed files going to change during the process? Will the artificial procedure culminate in acoustic trash or in truly amazing artwork? Finally it depends on you…

Other: SOMA has a wide variety of releases from leftfield IDM and Ambient to very pumping Techno and a splash of Vocal House. As long as your remix has a bit of a SOMA ‘sound’ it’s in with a chance of winning. Two remixes per artist is maximum. You need to register to the FOEM Forum to get the sample package and have a listen to the original track. Check out Let’s Go Outside’s official homepage. Other: The remixes should be 30-60 seconds long only. Octavat’s goal is to create a DVD with short video clips. The soundtracks for these videos will be your remixes. If you want feedback on your remixes you can send in rough versions during the process. The artists state “the earlier the better” as they want to start producing the videos. Prizes: One remix will be released on Petter B’s “Intersection EP” on Tech Art Records. The winner gets a chance to release one of his original tracks on Tech Art Records. Four more remixes will be picked out for a special remix EP.
Other: The label searches for remixes in the following styles only: IDM, Breaks, House, Electro, Minimal, Techno and related dancefloor music. The samples can be found on the Techno Nation Boards. You will need to become a registered user before you can download them. Your finsihed mix can only be entered by uploading it on Techno Nations FTP server. If you don’t have an FTP program I recommend the open source software Filezilla. For inspiration and to listen to the original track check Petter B’s myspace.
